ASX-listed Victory Metals has finalised key metallurgical testwork inputs for its prefeasibility study (PFS) on the North Stanmore heavy rare earths project, in Western Australia.

These final results confirm substantial opportunities to reduce both capital expenditure and operating expenditure of the project, including three major positive outcomes in flotation reagent selection, processing temperature and clay handling and filtration.

The company expects to publish the PFS during the second quarter.

For example, Victory finds it can save 50% of flotation reagent costs by using a more effective, lower priced reagent, while its process has proven to not require heat – ambient conditions are delivering equivalent results.

Victory CEO and executive director Brendan Clark says the company is pleased with these final testwork outcomes.

“By identifying a lower cost reagent that actually performs even better, confirming that ambient temperature processing works just as well, and demonstrating excellent filtration characteristics for our clays, we have simplified the entire process flowsheet and significantly lowered both capital and operational expenditure estimates.”
