Drilling Mining & Construction (DMC) will showcase its innovative Blend Mobile Mixing Plant technology at Electra Mining Africa 2026, demonstrating how on-site mobile concrete production can improve productivity, reduce waste and simplify construction logistics for mining, tunnelling and infrastructure projects across Africa.
As the Southern African distributor for Blend Plants, DMC continues to expand its portfolio of specialised equipment designed to improve efficiency in demanding operating environments. The Blend E-Series mobile mixing plants represent a significant departure from conventional concrete supply methods by enabling certified concrete and other cementitious products to be produced exactly where they are needed, precisely when they are required.
Unlike traditional batching operations that rely on readymix deliveries, the Blend system stores aggregates, cement, water and additives in separate compartments before automatically dosing and mixing materials according to pre-programmed recipes. This allows operators to produce only the required quantity of material, eliminating unnecessary waste while maintaining consistent quality. The plants are capable of producing concrete, mortar, cement-bound mixtures, cold asphalt and recycled concrete, providing exceptional versatility for mining and construction applications.
"The African mining and construction sectors increasingly require solutions that offer greater flexibility, mobility and operational efficiency," Niekie Pelser, Managing Director of Drilling Mining & Construction says. "The Blend Mobile Mixing Plant allows customers to manufacture high quality concrete directly at the point of use, reducing transport costs, minimising material wastage and giving contractors complete control over production schedules. This is particularly valuable on remote mining and construction sites where access to conventional concrete supply can be challenging."
The compact design of the Blend E-Series allows the units to be transported easily by truck or container and deployed rapidly on site. Operation requires only a single operator through an intuitive onboard control system, while integrated weighing technology ensures accurate dosing of all materials. Remote monitoring and recipe management capabilities further enhance operational control and support efficient fleet management across multiple sites.
Visitors to the DMC stand will also have the opportunity to learn more about the company's broader range of underground mining and construction equipment. As the Southern African representative for globally recognised OEMs including Resemin, Putzmeister Underground and Montabert, DMC supplies drilling rigs, mechanised shotcrete equipment and concrete transport systems that support safer and more productive underground mining operations.
At Electra Mining Africa, the Blend Mobile Mixing Plant is expected to attract strong interest from mining companies, contractors and infrastructure developers seeking practical, cost effective solutions that improve productivity while reducing material waste and environmental impact.
