Regenesys Education for All (EdForAll), in partnership with AMSAI and a network of community and health-focused organisations, has officially launched the Ananda Jayanti Health and Wellness Hub at Plot 24, Drieziek Ext. 1, Orange Farm.

The launch, held on 14 May 2026, brought together residents, community leaders, healthcare practitioners, partner organisations, volunteers and invited guests for a community-focused programme centred on healthcare access, prevention, wellness education and social support. The initiative forms part of a broader effort to make basic health services and reliable health information more accessible to residents of Orange Farm and surrounding areas.

During the event, community members received basic health and wellness screenings, including checks related to blood pressure, body measurements and general wellness indicators. Participating organisations also engaged residents with practical health education and awareness activities designed to encourage early prevention, healthier daily choices and improved understanding of available support services.

The launch also introduced practical ways for residents to receive and manage their screening information through accessible digital communication channels, making it easier for community members to follow up on their health status and seek further support where needed.

Speaking at the launch, Dr Marko Saravanja, Chairperson of Regenesys Education, reflected on the importance of restoring and strengthening community projects that have previously played a meaningful role in education, health and social upliftment in Orange Farm. He noted that renewed collaboration between organisations, local partners and community members is helping to revive facilities and programmes that can once again serve residents in practical and lasting ways.

Local leadership also welcomed the opening of the hub, highlighting the need for healthcare services that are closer to where people live. The centre is expected to be especially valuable for elderly residents and other community members who may struggle to travel long distances to access basic care, medication and health support.

Beyond healthcare, the partnership is also expected to contribute to broader community development opportunities, including education, skills development and future digital access initiatives linked to plans for a computer centre.

The launch marked an important step toward the hub’s ongoing operations, with full clinic services expected to begin on 1 June 2026.

“Regenesys EdForAll is proud to support a meaningful initiative that places community wellbeing at the centre of development,” said Dr Rowen Govender, Head of School of Health, Regenesys Education. “The Ananda Jayanti Health and Wellness Hub represents a practical

step toward improving access to health information, preventative care and support services for the people of Orange Farm. Through partnership and community participation, we believe this centre can make a lasting difference.”

The hub has been created as a welcoming space where community members can access reliable health information, wellness guidance, basic checks and support from healthcare and social development partners. It reflects a shared commitment to strengthening community wellbeing and empowering individuals and families to take a proactive role in their health.

Partner organisations involved in the launch included PinkDrive, loveLife, Indoda Wednesday and Basic Support Package, who contributed health, wellness and community support services throughout the programme. The broader initiative is supported by AMSAI, a neo-humanist school based in Orange Farm, and brings together public health, education, youth development, wellness, social support and community upliftment partners.

The launch of the Ananda Jayanti Health and Wellness Hub signals a collective step toward building a healthier, stronger and more informed Orange Farm community.

As expressed in the community invitation: “Le amohelehile kaofela ho tla kopanela le rona motseng moo ho nang le khotso le bophelo ba Orange Farm.”
