Obsidian Systems will host smarter.tech ’26 on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, a half-day virtual technology event for the people keeping modern IT running. Designed for practitioners, technical leaders, platform owners, and C-level executives who want practical insight into the systems, tools, operating models, and technologies shaping modern enterprise environments. The event runs from 08:30 to 14:00, and registration is free via Quicket.

Rather than a passive online broadcast, smarter.tech’26 is designed as an interactive virtual experience combining keynotes, demos, networking tables, breakout discussions, partners spaces and direct access to experts in a format that mirrors the spontaneity and connection of an in-person event.

“Technology teams are being asked to modernise, automate, secure, and deliver faster — often at the same time,” says Muggie van Staden, CEO of Obsidian Systems. “smarter.tech ’26 is about giving people direct access to practical conversations, technical expertise, and real-world experiences that can help them make better decisions.”

The programme is organised around the real pressure points facing enterprise IT teams from infrastructure resilience and hybrid cloud operations to DevOps, service delivery, automation, governance, AI adoption, and cyber resilience.

Demos and expert sessions will cover several areas central to Obsidian’s work with enterprise customers. These include fault-tolerant edge environments using ThinLinc, Linux, and Stratus ztC Edge; Atlassian Assets beyond IT; AI agents and governance; Red Hat Lightspeed for AI-assisted IT operations; Red Hat Satellite for smarter systems management; Atlassian Teamwork Collection; Atlassian Service Collection; and the modern MSP playbook for automation, visibility, and service delivery.

Van Staden and Obsidian’s technical leaders will participate in discussions on service management, MSP operations, tool integration, delivery alignment, and the practical challenges facing teams responsible for keeping modern IT environments running.

For builders and practitioners, the event offers technical depth across DevOps, cloud, infrastructure, security, data, and automation. Meanwhile, for executives, it provides a concise view of strategy, governance, and digital transformation. And for platform owners and technical leads, it creates space to discuss adoption, integration, and system modernisation with people working close to the technology.

“Good technology events should leave people with more than slides,” adds van Staden. “Our goal is for attendees to walk away with practical ideas, useful connections, and clearer thinking about the challenges their teams face every day.”

Smarter.tech ’26 takes place online on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, from 08:30 to 14:00. Registration is available via Quicket.
