Viridis adds rare earths veteran to board
Rare earths developer Viridis Mining and Minerals has appointed Geoff Bedford independent nonexecutive director effective May 1.
This further strengthens the group’s leadership as the company advances toward key commercial and financing milestones for its flagship Colossus rare earths project in Brazil.
The company also has assets in Canada and Australia.
Viridis is progressing Colossus toward a final investment decision while advancing offtake and project financing agreements.
Bedford joins the board after Tim Harrison’s retirement. Bedford brings to the board more than 20 years’ experience across the full rare earth value chain, including as former CEO of Neo Performance Materials and Mylocorp, where he oversaw international operations in mining, separation, magnetics and downstream processing for rare earths.
Bedford has a track record of raising significant amounts of equity and debt financing across major international exchanges, alongside experience in mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and global supply chain development.
His appointment complements prior appointments having been made by the company, including Ramon Soares as CFO alongside Ross Forzatti as COO and Marcus Silberman as nonexecutive director.
