Sage (FTSE: SGE), a leader in accounting, financial, HR and payroll technology for small and mid-sized businesses, today announced new tools and commercial options designed to make it easier for developers and partners to build, launch and scale solutions across Sage products.

The update introduces a more unified developer experience across Sage Intacct, Sage X3 and Sage Active, giving partners a clearer way to build once, integrate more easily and bring solutions to market faster. For customers, that means quicker access to connected tools, more automated workflows and solutions that fit more closely around how their businesses operate.

Sage also unveiled new AI development tools at Sage Future in San Francisco, including Sage Agent Builder and the AI Gateway. Together, these tools give partners a more structured way to design, test and deploy AI-powered experiences within Sage workflows, including Sage Copilot and Sage Marketplace.

Alongside the new tooling, Sage is introducing more flexible pricing and revenue models, including usage-based pricing and revenue sharing, to help partners grow more predictably as adoption increases.

“These changes are about making it easier for partners to build and grow with Sage,” said Manav Thiara, SVP and Technical Fellow, Data Digital Services and Engineering, Sage. “We’re simplifying the developer experience across our platform and providing the tools and commercial models that help partners move from idea to impact more quickly, while building solutions that are secure, scalable and ready for real-world use.”

Developers and partners driving the next wave of innovation

As businesses demand more connected and intelligent tools, the role of developers and partners is becoming increasingly important. IDC expects a 10x increase in the number and complexity of third-party and custom-built AI agents used by enterprises in the next five years, highlighting the scale of opportunity for developers building intelligent, connected solutions.

With a more unified platform and dedicated AI tooling, Sage enables partners to develop solutions that integrate more easily across finance and operations workflows, reducing complexity and improving time to market.

Early examples include partners developing AI-powered solutions such as DataBlend PopdockAI Agent, which connects data across finance workflows to provide real-time insights and automate tasks such as reconciliation and forecasting.

“The biggest difference for us is how much more straightforward it is to build and bring solutions to market,” said, Ethan Carlson, Chief Revenue Officer, DataBlend, an eOne company. “What really stands out is the introduction of capabilities like the AI Gateway, which gives us a more practical way to build AI-driven functionality into our solutions. With DataBlend PopdockAI Agent, we are able to connect data across systems and bring insights directly into finance workflows, reducing complexity and helping teams act on their data more quickly.”

Built on trust and governance for real-world use

Ensuring partners can build with confidence remains central to this approach. Improved onboarding, sandbox environments and certification pathways make it easier to develop and deploy solutions securely, while enhancements to Sage Verify support stronger authentication and business identity without adding unnecessary friction.

This builds on Sage’s continued investment in its platform as the foundation for innovation across its ecosystem, including the expansion of embedded services such as accounting, payroll, carbon accounting and expense management, further extending the capabilities available to customers within Sage.

For small and mid-sized businesses, this means access to a broader range of solutions delivered through Sage’s partner ecosystem, helping them reduce complexity, adopt new capabilities faster, and improve how finance and operations run day to day.
