ASX-listed Forrestania Resources has taken the next step in developing its Lake Johnston processing facility in Western Australia, entering a heads of agreement with Polaris Engineering Services to install a new carbon-in-leach (CIL) circuit and complete plant refurbishments.

The agreement, which includes design partner Mincore, represents the next stage in the staged refurbishment and recommissioning of the facility, with commissioning of the CIL circuit expected by November 2026.

Upon completion, the Lake Johnston plant will have a throughput capacity of approximately 3.2-million tonnes a year.

The total potential contract value is up to A$58.5-million, with a flexible payment structure that allows Forrestania to issue shares at a 12% premium to volume-weighted average price, or settle in cash at its discretion.

Chairperson David Geraghty said the agreement was a defining step toward establishing Lake Johnston as a production-ready gold processing hub.

“With both the crushing circuit and CIL plant progressing in a structured sequence, Forrestania is rapidly assembling the core infrastructure required to transition into production. The scale and design of the plant provide a long-life processing solution capable of supporting both internal resources and potential third-party ore sources,” he noted.

Polaris MD Shannon Melvin said the company was pleased to play a key role in advancing the project and looked forward to seeing Forrestania emerge as a significant gold producer in Western Australia.
