Canadian junior exploration company Akwaaba Mining has successfully renewed the prospecting licence for the Kunsu project, in the Ahafo Ano South district of the Ashanti region of Ghana, granted by the Minerals Commission of Ghana.

The renewed licence, valid for a period of three years until April 28, 2029, will allow the company to continue exploration activities in the area.

The renewal reflects Akwaaba’s compliance with all regulatory requirements and underscores the company’s commitment to responsible and sustainable exploration practices, it says in a statement.

The prospecting licence covers about 141 km2, one of the largest concessions in the country, and is considered highly prospective for gold exploration.

“This renewal is a crucial milestone for the company, enabling us to continue advancing our exploration programme and building on the positive results achieved to date while gold prices are achieving records after records,” says CEO Allan Green.

With the licence renewal secured, Akwaaba says it plans to advance drilling programmes in line with its strategic objectives.
