Clive Le Roux

Clive Le Roux is a South African business executive who serves on the board of Eskom, the country's state-owned electricity utility. He was appointed to the Eskom board as part of efforts to strengthen governance and operational oversight at the power utility during a period marked by significant challenges including loadshedding and financial strain. Le Roux brings corporate and financial expertise to the board, contributing to strategic decision-making on matters ranging from infrastructure investment to operational turnaround initiatives. His appointment forms part of a broader reconstitution of Eskom's leadership aimed at stabilising the utility and restoring reliable electricity supply to South Africa. Le Roux serves alongside other board members tasked with overseeing management's execution of the utility's recovery plan and ensuring accountability to government and the public. The board's work has been central to navigating Eskom's debt burden, maintenance backlogs and the transition towards a more sustainable energy mix. Le Roux's role places him at the centre of one of South Africa's most critical economic and infrastructure challenges, with Eskom's performance directly affecting business confidence, investment and economic growth. His tenure coincides with efforts to end the rolling blackouts that have constrained the economy and disrupted daily life across the country.
