Mining technology provider Weir will use its presence at Electra Mining Africa to highlight how its investment in South African manufacturing facilities supports mining operations across Africa while reinforcing the company’s broader flowsheet approach to minerals processing.

For Weir, supporting customers extends beyond equipment supply. The company focuses on understanding the entire mining process and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability and performance across the flowsheet.

This approach is supported by Weir’s manufacturing operations in Alrode and Isando, in Gauteng, and in Gqeberha, in the Eastern Cape, which supply equipment and solutions to mining customers locally, across Africa and into Weir’s global network. According to the company, local manufacturing plays an important role in improving responsiveness, reducing lead times and aligning products and aftermarket support with local operating conditions.

At Electra Mining Africa, Weir will showcase a range of technologies that support different stages of the minerals processing circuit. These include the ENDURON® ELITE screen range, manufactured locally at the company’s expanded Alrode facility, and designed for high-capacity screening applications.

The company will also highlight its WARMAN® slurry pumps for abrasive slurry transportation, LINATEX® rubber wear linings for wear protection in high-wear environments and mill lining solutions engineered to improve grinding efficiency and optimise mill performance.

Weir says these technologies are designed to operate as integrated components within the broader processing circuit, supporting improved throughput, reduced downtime and more efficient mining operations through a combination of local manufacturing, engineering expertise and aftermarket support.
