Name of the Project
Tallahassee uranium project.

Location
Colorado, in the US.

Project Owner/s
Global Uranium and Enrichment (GUE).

Project Description
The project comprises five major deposits: Hansen, Taylor, Boyer, Noah and Picnic Tree. A scoping study confirms Tallahassee is technically derisked and outlines a pathway to develop the large, high-grade Hansen deposit.

GUE has selected hydraulic borehole mining (HBHM), which uses selective hydraulic jet boring/cutting and pumps the slurry to the surface for water/solid separation, offering cost and environmental advantages over alternative methods.

The scoping study proposes producing 15.2-million pounds of uranium oxide from 5.7-million tonnes averaging 0.12%, with 12.9-million recovered after high-pressure slurry ablation (HPSA).

HPSA will upgrade the ore into high-grade mill feed for offsite yellowcake production. The mine life is about seven years, targeting yearly output of about 1.8-million pounds of uranium.

Potential Job Creation
Not stated.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
Applying an 8% discount rate, the project has a net present value of $202.81-million and an internal rate of return of 93%.

Capital Expenditure
Preproduction capital is estimated at $76-million. Total capital investment is estimated to be $108.2-million.

Planned Start/End Date
Not stated.

Latest Developments
GUE is focusing on identifying and testing further optimisation opportunities to improve run-of-mine resource grades, mining methods, infrastructure and water, as well as environmental/social considerations.

Key Contracts, Suppliers and Consultants
WWC Engineering (scoping study compilation, economic analysis, transportation, and permitting); Tetra Tech (mineral resource estimation and resource modelling); Kinley Exploration (HBHM design, planning, and costing); DFH Geoscience and Engineering (underground mining design, planning, and costing); Petrotek Corporation (hydrology and groundwater); Pace Analytical (core disaggregation testing and chemical analysis); and Disa Technologies (high-pressure slurry ablation design and costing).
