PhosCo extends Gasaat resource with two deposit estimates
ASX-listed PhosCo has announced a maiden mineral resource estimate for the KM and SAB phosphate deposits within the company’s Gasaat phosphate project in Tunisia, totalling 20.2-million tonnes grading 20.5% phosphorus pentoxide.
The KM maiden resource is 12-million tonnes grading 20.5% phosphorus pentoxide while the SAB maiden resource is 8.2-million tonnes grading 20.6% phosphorus pentoxide.
The Gasaat mineral resource overall now stands at 166-million tonnes grading 20.6% phosphorus pentoxide, which represents the only phosphate resources controlled by an ASX-listed company in Tunisia. About 63% of the resource represents indicated resources and 29% measured resources.
PhosCo MD Taz Aldaoud says the new KM and SAB deposits are expected to have a significant impact on early production and cashflow at Gasaat owing to their low strip ratios and close proximity to the proposed processing plant.
“The already substantial global resource has grown further, extending Gasaat's scale and potential mine life, with five prospects still to be fully evaluated. Mine planning is underway and metallurgical testwork is well-advanced, both of which will be incorporated into the updated scoping study due in the third quarter of this year,” Aldaoud confirms.
