Peninsula restarts uranium production at Lance project after plant repairs
ASX-listed Peninsula Energy has restarted uranium precipitation and yellowcake production at its Lance project in Wyoming, following the completion of rectification work on the central processing plant (CPP).
The company announced on Thursday that the CPP was back in operation after replacement agitator assemblies were installed and commissioned in the precipitation circuit, restoring full functionality.
Production at the CPP had been temporarily impacted by installation-related issues in the precipitation tanks, identified earlier this year.
Peninsula said the replacement units were sourced from the original manufacturer and installed under warranty, with rectification costs covered under the engineering, procurement and construction contract.
Prior to the outage, the precipitation circuit had achieved efficiencies of about 99% during early ramp-up.
The restart allows the company to continue ramping up production at the Lance project, with installed plant capacity of two-million pounds a year.
Peninsula maintained its 2026 production guidance of 400 000 lb to 500 000 lb, indicating that the outage had not materially affected its full-year outlook.
Wellfield operations continued throughout the repair period, preserving production momentum.
Meanwhile, the company reported encouraging results from Mine Unit 4, where uranium-bearing solution from Header House 14 is now being processed through the CPP.
Average grades of 63.9 mg/l have been recorded, significantly higher than historical levels at the operation.
Peninsula said the results support its low-pH in-situ recovery strategy and provide confidence in the project’s production profile.
