Oriole reports ‘excellent’ district-scale prospectivity at Cameroon licences
Aim-listed Oriole Resources reports that recent selective rock-chip sampling at its Ndom licence, in Cameroon, has returned gold grades of up to 17 g/t gold, in northwest-trending quartz veins that show similarities with mineralisation observed at the company's Mbe project in Cameroon.
Ndom is one of four licences that make up Oriole’s 90%-owned Eastern Central Licence Package (CLP), which is contiguous with the Mbe licence it owns.
Follow-up exploration is being planned at the Ndom licence.
Meanwhile, at the Pokor licence, mapping and rock-chip sampling are under way.
Additionally, soil sampling over earlier discovered stream-in-soil anomalism at the Niambaram licence has been completed for 1 944 samples – including quality assurance and quality control – and results are anticipated in the second half of this year.
Results from selective rock-chip samples taken during the programme have returned up to 1.39 g/t gold.
"The Eastern CLP licences, two of which adjoin the Mbe licence, which already hosts a major 1.23-million-ounce deposit, have excellent district-scale prospectivity for the discovery of gold.
“We are especially pleased with the rock-chip sampling results at Ndom and eagerly look forward to follow-up work there and more results from ongoing exploration on the other Eastern CLP licences,” says Oriole CEO Martin Rosser.
