Northam draws strong interest in strategic deal process
JSE-listed platinum group metals miner Northam Platinum has received significant interest from South African and multinational companies in a strategic process to explore potential transactions involving the group.
In an October 29 update to shareholders, the company says it has received expressions of interest from prospective participants ahead of the December 1, deadline, and continued to engage with senior executives from other credible potential participants.
The process, first announced on August 25, aims to solicit proposals from interested parties for one or more potential transactions.
“We are pleased with the positive response received since announcing Northam’s process, both with regard to the size, calibre and number of interested parties, as well as from our shareholders who have expressed their support for the company’s decision to embark on the process to pursue further shareholder value creation,” says Northam CEO Paul Dunne.
