NMR pours 560 oz doré at Blackjack
Gold developer Native Mineral Resources (NMR) has reported continued operational momentum at its Queensland assets, pouring 560 oz of doré at its Blackjack processing plant while advancing toward first mining at the Podosky deposit next month.
The latest gold pour, completed on Wednesday, produced three doré bars totalling 560 oz (17.41 kg), as the company continues to process stockpiled material while preparing for a broader ramp-up in mining activity.
NMR MD and CEO Blake Cannavo said in a statement on Thursday that the latest production result reflected steady progress across multiple workstreams in the Charters Towers region.
“Our latest 560 oz doré pour at Blackjack demonstrates continued operating momentum as we build production and advance multiple parallel growth workstreams,” he said.
“With more than 5 000 t of Far Fanning material now stockpiled on the Blackjack run-of-mine pad, and Podosky progressing toward its planned April mining start, we are positioning the company to increase feed flexibility and support our production profile.”
At Podosky, NMR remains on schedule to begin mining in April, with drilling, geological modelling and mine planning activities now largely complete. First blast is targeted for April 7, with mining and ore haulage expected to begin from mid-April.
The company has secured exclusive rights for 12 months to mine and extract gold and silver from Podosky, with ore to be transported to the Blackjack operations for processing.
Meanwhile, preparations to restart mining at Blackjack are progressing, following a suspension in October 2025 to allow for additional drilling, updated geological modelling and pit optimisation.
Drill-and-blast mobilisation is expected shortly, with first blast targeted for April 19 and mining resuming by late April to early May. NMR expects the restart to deliver a material improvement in production through higher throughput and improved grades.
Across the rest of its portfolio, the company is advancing drilling, approvals and infrastructure development to support future growth.
At Far Fanning, drilling approvals have been secured, with drilling expected to start in early April as part of an eight-week programme. The work will support updated resource modelling and future mine planning.
In parallel, test hole and sterilisation drilling has started at Blackjack South to finalise locations for a proposed waste rock dump and new tailings storage facility (TSF).
Construction of the TSF Stage 3 lift has been completed, while design work on Stage 4 and a new TSF development remain on track for completion during 2026.
NMR added that ongoing work on plant upgrades, water infrastructure planning and regulatory submissions would underpin the next phase of production growth and operational expansion.
