Name of the Project
Langer Heinrich uranium mine.
Location
Namib Desert, Namibia.
Project Owner/s
Langer Heinrich Mauritius Holdings is the holding company of Langer Heinrich Uranium, which holds 100% of the Langer Heinrich tenements.
Australia-based uranium producer Paladin Energy owns 75% of Langer Heinrich Mauritius Holdings, with 25% owned by CNNC Overseas Uranium Holdings.
Project Description
The conventional openpit uranium mine has a 17-year mine life. Its 2025 ore reserves total 83.8-million tonnes at an average grade of 448 parts per million uranium oxide (U3O8), containing 82.8-million pounds of U3O8 on a 100% ownership basis.
The operation exploits a surficial calcrete deposit with relatively low strip ratios and uses run-of-mine beneficiation and a conventional alkaline leach process to produce high-purity U3O8.

Capital Expenditure
The restart project had an estimated capital cost of about $125-million. Paladin expects capital expenditure of $29-million to $35-million in the 2027 financial year, excluding capitalised stripping and the cost of building low-grade ore stockpiles.
Planned Start/End Date
Commercial production restarted on March 30, 2024. Mining resumed in April 2025, and the ramp-up to full mining and processing operations was completed in the June 2026 quarter.
Latest Developments
Paladin reported that the operational ramp-up was completed in the June 2026 quarter. Langer Heinrich produced 4.82-million pounds of U3O8 in the 2026 financial year, at the upper end of guidance, and sold 4.35-million pounds. The full-year cost of production was $43.30/lb.
For the 2027 financial year, Paladin is guiding production of 5.1-million to 5.6-million pounds of U3O8 and sales of 4.8-million to 5.3-million pounds, with a production cost of $44/lb to $48/lb.
All ore processed in the 2027 financial year is expected to be sourced from the mine following depletion of the previously mined MG3 stockpile. Planned maintenance shutdowns are expected to affect first-half production, with higher production anticipated in the second half as higher-grade ore feed increases. Mining and plant optimisation will continue throughout the year.
