LaFleur adds strategic VPs to executive arsenal
Canadian minerals developer LaFleur Minerals has appointed Marc Ducharme VP of exploration and Mike Petrina VP of mining operations, marking strategic additions as the company advances the Swanson gold project and prepares for restarted gold production at the Beacon Gold Mill.
Both sites are based in Québec’s prolific Abitibi Gold Belt near Val-d’Or.
The company aims to enhance its technical, operational and capital markets expertise at this pivotal stage, with both executives bringing to their positions decades of proven success in discovery, project development and mine operations.
Notably, Ducharme worked as exploration VP at Probe Gold prior to its $770-million takeover by Fresnillo in January while Petrina’s experience at Moose Mountain Technical Services helped advance Probe Gold’s Novador project through an updated preliminary economic assessment.
Their combined expertise strengthens LaFleur’s ability to executive on its vertically-integrated mine-to-mill strategy, accelerate exploration success and efficiently transition into gold production.
LaFleur CEO and director Paul Ténière says as the company approaches the restart of gold production at its wholly-owned Beacon Gold Mill, Petrina’s operational expertise will be critical in ensuring a seamless and efficient transition to production.
“His depth of experience across mine development and operations will strengthen our execution capabilities and support our objective of maximising operational efficiency. We are excited to welcome both Petrina and Ducharme, whose combined experience in the Val-d’Or region positions LaFleur for continued growth and success.”
