Kazakhstan's H1 uranium output up 9% year-on-year, Kazatomprom says

ALMATY – Kazakhstan increased its uranium production in the first six months of 2026 by 9% year-on-year, Kazatomprom, the world's largest uranium producer, reported on Monday.

It said it had produced 13 291 t of uranium in the first half of the year compared with 12 242 t in the first six months of 2025.

Kazatomprom sells uranium oxide concentrate, an intermediate product in the processing of natural uranium into nuclear fuel, under long-term contracts with only small volumes sold on the spot market.

Kazakh State fund Samruk-Kazyna owns 75% of Kazatomprom's shares, which since 2019 are listed on the LSE.
