Project Description
The project involves the development of two underground mining operations targeting the Gamsberg North and Kloof orebodies.

The project is expected to increase underground mining capacity from about 500 000 t/y to 2.5-million tonnes a year. Zinc metal-in-concentrate production is expected to increase from about 25 000 t/y to 138 000 t/y.

The underground development will support the continued extraction of the Gamsberg orebody beyond the current openpit operation. Current mineral reserves and resources indicate a potential life-of-mine of 29 years, including a 12-year peak production period.

Potential Job Creation
The project is expected to create between 500 and 800 jobs during construction, and a further 250 to 300 permanent jobs during peak operations.

Approved capital expenditure was estimated at $200-million as at April 2026.
