Foton South Africa is showcasing South Africa’s biggest model range of light commercial vehicles at this year’s NAMPO Harvest Day, one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in the Southern Hemisphere. Dominating the brand’s presence this year is the introduction of the Foton Miler Lite, a new Code 8 light commercial vehicle designed to unlock greater accessibility and efficiency for South African businesses.

The annual NAMPO exhibition provides a key opportunity for the brand to engage directly with South Africa’s agricultural sector, small business owners, and fleet operators who rely on durable and efficient transport solutions in demanding environments.

“NAMPO is an important platform for us as it brings us closer to the customers who are actively driving economic activity in South Africa,” says Marius Smal, CEO of Foton South Africa. “Our focus is on delivering vehicles that are practical, reliable, and aligned with the real-world needs of South African businesses.”

Taking centre stage at Foton South Africa’s stand is the newly introduced Foton Miler Lite, a light-duty dropside truck designed to offer a highly accessible and capable transport solution. One of its key differentiators is that it can be driven with a standard Code 8 driver’s license, significantly widening its usability across businesses and operators.

Positioned as one of the largest dropside trucks in the Code 8 category, the Miler Lite delivers increased practicality and load-carrying capability, making it well-suited to industries such as agriculture, construction, and last-mile logistics where versatility and efficiency are essential.

Safety has been a central focus in the development of the Miler Lite, with features including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), daytime running lights, fog lights, and, on selected models, dual airbags. These features contribute to its positioning as the safest dropside truck in its segment, offering enhanced protection for drivers and supporting safer operations in working environments.

“We understand that safety is a critical consideration for any business operating a fleet or relying on commercial vehicles daily,” adds Smal. “With the Miler Lite, we have ensured that key safety features are incorporated to support both driver confidence and operational reliability.”

The Miler Lite will be available in two specifications to cater to varying operational requirements and budget considerations. The first specification offers a practical, cost-effective solution without air conditioning and airbags, while the second specification includes air conditioning and dual airbags, providing additional comfort and enhanced safety for more demanding daily use.

The introduction of the Miler Lite further strengthens Foton South Africa’s commitment to delivering fit-for-purpose, built for business vehicles that support business growth across multiple sectors. As the brand continues to expand its presence locally, products such as the Miler Lite play a key role in addressing the need for accessible, efficient, and reliable transport solutions.

Visitors to NAMPO Harvest Day will have the opportunity to experience the full Foton range firsthand and engage with the team to explore vehicle solutions tailored to their operational needs.
