Engen Xtreme Fuels the Thrill at Killarney’s Extreme Festival Season Opener
The roar of high-performance engines and the adrenaline of wheel-to-wheel racing set the stage as the National Extreme Festival returned to the Western Cape for its season opener at Killarney International Raceway. As a proud supporter of South African motorsport, Engen Xtreme was at the heart of the action, celebrating performance, innovation and the country’s passionate motoring community.
Thousands of racing fans gathered at Killarney for a full day of high-octane entertainment both on and off the track. The programme featured some of the country’s most competitive racing categories, including the Dunlop Extreme Supercars, South African Touring Cars, SupaCup, the Astron Energy Polo Cup, Investchem MSA4 single seaters, SunBet ZX10 Masters motorcycles, and the Volkswagen Rookie Cup.
From powerful GT3 machinery and fiercely contested touring car battles to the next generation of motorsport talent in the rookie and development series, spectators were treated to a thrilling showcase of speed, precision and racing excellence.
At the centre of the excitement was the Engen Xtreme brand presence, where motorsport fans and everyday motorists alike engaged with the brand and discovered more about the premium lubricant range engineered to deliver superior engine protection in South Africa’s toughest driving conditions.
“Engen Xtreme delivers premium protection in a proudly South African product,” says Melissa Graham, B2C Sales Marketing Manager of Lubricants at Engen. “Motorsport is the ultimate proving ground for performance and endurance, and events like the Extreme Festival allow us to celebrate that spirit with passionate fans while demonstrating how Engen Xtreme supports engines both on the racetrack and on everyday roads.”
The Extreme Festival’s return to Killarney highlighted the depth of South African motorsport talent and the diversity of racing categories that continue to captivate local audiences. From GT3 supercars battling for supremacy to emerging drivers taking their first steps on the national stage, the event showcased the full spectrum of the country’s racing culture.
“Motoring enthusiasts understand that performance begins with what’s under the bonnet,” adds Graham. “By supporting premier motorsport events like the Extreme Festival, Engen Xtreme connects directly with drivers, mechanics and fans who value reliability, durability and high-performance engineering.”
Engen Xtreme’s involvement in motorsport forms part of the brand’s ongoing commitment to supporting automotive communities and celebrating the passion that drives South Africa’s motoring culture. Through activations and engagement at key events, the brand continues to demonstrate how its advanced lubricant technology helps protect engines in the most demanding conditions.
The Extreme Festival season opener once again proved why Killarney remains one of the highlights on the South African racing calendar. Engen Xtreme is proud to have been part of the action, fuelling the excitement of motorsport fans and everyday drivers alike.
