The shift toward total industrial automation has become a key requirement for ensuring competitiveness in a range of sectors including automotive manufacturing, high-speed logistics and the food industry, affirms electrical connection technology provider HELU South Africa.

The company asserts that components of modern automated systems, such as processors, sensors and drives, are only as effective as the system of cables, wires and accessories that connect them. It specialises in ensuring these components receive the power and data flow needed to function reliably, even in the most demanding environments, from systems that include high-flexibility solutions that can withstand the constant bending and torsion of robotic applications to cables that resist extreme temperatures and chemicals.

Products include motor, servo and encoder cables for electrical drives; flexible and torsion-resistant robot cables; cable accessories; data, bus and ethernet cables as well as space-saving hybrid cables that combine power and data transmission.

Engineered ecosystems and individual components include:

  • Drive and servo systems: TOPSERV and TOPGEBER series for electrical drives, offering seamless motor and feedback communication with up to 5-million bending cycles for high-performance application.
  • Robotics and torsion: ROBOFLEX range for 6-axis robots, to ensure long-term uptime in high-stress environments for up to 10-million torsion cycles.
  • Data and communication: HELUKAT and PROFInet solutions provide high-speed industrial ethernet for real-time digital interconnection and next generation industry.
  • Pre-assembled components and ready-to-use system solutions include:
  • Configurable energy/drag chain systems: made of plastic, aluminium or stainless steel for long unsupported lengths.
  • Accessories: such as HELUTOP cable glands with vibration protection and IP68 ratings, and
  • HELUTEC circular connectors with a modular design principle.
  • For earthing, protection and management: HELUcond corrugated tubes for high load capacity, copper-earthing straps for electromagnetic compatibility and industrial LED luminaires to help keep workspaces safe and efficient.

These systems are designed to help businesses reduce installation time and eliminate technical risks. HELU South Africa provides cables, wires, accessories, customer-specific designs, pre-assembled components and a logistics network aimed at ensuring high product availability and short delivery times.
