TSX-V- and ASX-listed lithium explorer Li-FT Power has appointed Jeff Reinson COO and April Hayward external affairs and strategic partnerships executive VP, effective July 20.

The appointments reflect the evolution of Li-FT from explorer to developer, and the calibre of leadership required for the company's next phase of growth, says CEO and president Francis MacDonald.

He comments that since Reinson's joining Li-FT as development senior VP in February, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of the company's portfolio. He also has a proven track record in project development, engineering and operations, with a career spanning 25 years. His work experience includes operations VP at Burgundy Diamond Mines and COO at First Mining Gold Corporation.

In turn, MacDonald says Hayward as played an instrumental role in advancing Li-FT from exploration to development, having worked as Li-FT's chief sustainability officer.

"She is able to translate technical and environment, social and governance complexity into commercial strategy, which makes her ideally suited to drive the partnerships that will enhance Li-FT's project value and support paths to production."

Hayward brings to her new position 25 years of working experience spanning the academic, public and private sectors, including helping companies navigate critical value inflection points.

Li-FT is developing a portfolio of hard rock lithium assets in Canada, with core development assets in Québec and the Northwest Territories.

The company owns the Adina-Galinée lithium project in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Québec and the Yellowknife lithium project in the Northwest Territories. Li-FT also holds early-stage exploration properties in both jurisdictions.

In fact, Li-FT on July 17 started with exploration activities at Adina-Galinée, with a 38 970 m drill programme planned for the year.
