ASX-listed Askari Metals has provided an update on exploration activities under way at its Uis critical metals project, in Namibia, where multiple workstreams are progressing simultaneously as the company advances a growing pipeline of drill-ready pegmatite targets.

Uis is emerging as a polymetallic pegmatite project offering exposure to tin, tantalum, lithium, rubidium and caesium, the company says.

A soil geochemical survey at licence EPL 7626 is now approaching 75% completion.

The survey represents a key component of Askari’s systematic exploration strategy and has been designed to identify and prioritise concealed pegmatite targets within the broader Uis project area.

The programme is expected to provide valuable geochemical vectors to support target generation and assist in defining additional priority areas for follow-up mapping, trenching and drilling.

Once completed, all samples will be submitted for laboratory analysis and integrated with geological, geophysical and hyperspectral datasets to further refine exploration targets across the licence area.

Moreover, the company indicates that the first phase trenching programme is advancing at the Kestrel pegmatite target (EPL 8535).

There is also detailed geological mapping and rock-chip sampling continuing across multiple priority targets on EPL 7345 and EPL 8535.

Standout large-scale targets include K10 with an interpreted strike length of 3.1 km, GP at 2.4 km and Tawny at 2.2 km.

Work is focused on refining drill-ready targets and prioritising follow-up exploration.

Reverse circulation (RC) drilling planning is under way on the high-priority DP, PS, K9 and OP targets at EPL 7345.

Exploration activities continue to demonstrate the scale and prospectivity of the project, Askari highlights.

Over the coming month, the company intends to complete the remaining soil sampling at EPL 7626; finalise first-phase trenching at the Kestrel pegmatite target; continue detailed mapping and rock-chip sampling programmes across EPL 7345 and EPL 8535; receive and interpret assay results from ongoing field programmes; finalise RC drill targeting at the DP, PS, K9 and OP targets; and prepare for the start of the next phase of drilling across the project.
