American Rare Earths appoints former Newmont executive to drive strategy
Critical minerals company American Rare Earths has appointed former Newmont executive Nick Lissolo as VP of corporate development and strategy, as the company advances its flagship Halleck Creek project in Wyoming.
Lissolo will lead corporate development, portfolio strategy and capital markets initiatives, with a focus on strategic partnerships, project evaluation and long-term value creation.
He brings 17 years of experience in mining finance and project evaluation, most recently serving as head of evaluation modelling at Newmont, where he led enterprise-wide financial modelling and capital allocation analysis across the company’s global portfolio.
During his tenure, he also held senior roles in project evaluation, financial reporting and regional finance, supporting investment decisions on projects ranging from $100-million to $5-billion.
“The addition of Nick to our senior leadership team marks an important step in American Rare Earths’ evolution from exploration and evaluation toward development," commented CEO Mark Wall.
"His experience in large-scale project evaluation, capital allocation, and enterprise-level financial planning at one of the world’s leading gold producers will be invaluable as we continue to derisk and grow the American Rare Earths Halleck Creek project and our broader portfolio.”
Lissolo said the role offered an opportunity to contribute to the development of a domestic rare earths supply chain in the US.
