TSX-V-listed Ucore Rare Metals has announced an additional 801 600 t of newly estimated measured mineralisation grading 0.60% total rare earth oxides (TREO) for the Bokan Dotson-Ridge rare earths project, in Alaska.

In an updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) for the project issued on April 14, Ucore says the new mineral resource was calculated following a surface channel sampling programme conducted in 2022 and a new deposit model having been constructed.

The company confirms that Bokan now has an anomalous skew towards the more valuable heavy rare earths and this appears to be consistent across the entire deposit at between 35% and 40% of the TREO.

The resource remains open at depth and along strike.

Notably, the upgraded mineral resource excludes the I&L Zone of Bokan. On recommendation of Stentec, which undertook the initial mine design of Bokan, the zone will be examined as part of a prospective Phase II mine expansion programme.

The MRE for the project now has 4 826 t of contained TREO in the measured category, 19 545 t of TREO in the indicated category and 5 568 t of TREO in the inferred category.

The heavy rare earths within the TREO mix include europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium, lutetium and yttrium.
